What this website collects, and why

This website is deliberately simple: no advertising, and no content loaded from third-party platforms. Fonts, images and demos are served directly by our host.

Like any web server, our host's server (OVH) keeps technical logs when you visit:

your IP address;
the date and time of the request, the page requested;
information about your browser and device.

These logs are used only to keep the website running and secure (legal basis: legitimate interest). They are not used for commercial purposes and are not passed on to third parties.

Audience measurement (Matomo)

This website uses Matomo, a statistics tool installed on our own OVH hosting (shared with olivierlattuga.com, a website of the same publisher), to understand how it is used (pages viewed, where visits come from, contact requests). Legal basis: legitimate interest; configured as described below, it falls under the consent exemption granted by the CNIL (the French data protection authority) for audience measurement. Matomo is set up to respect your privacy:

no cookies are set;
your IP address is anonymised;
the data stays on our server and is shared with no one;
if “Do Not Track” is enabled in your browser, no statistics are recorded.

You can also refuse these statistics on this browser: your choice is stored on your device (local storage, no cookie).

When you write to us or call us

The contact form and the client-area access request form send Olivier Lattuga, by email, your name, phone number, email address, subject (or company) and message. This information is not stored on the website; only your IP address is kept, for one hour at most, to prevent abuse. It is used solely to answer your request (legal basis: pre-contractual measures taken at your request). Messages are received on the secure Proton email service (Proton AG, Switzerland, a country recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection).

When you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, the information you provide (name, contact details, description of your site and needs) is used only to answer your request, prepare a quote and, where applicable, carry out the work. Exchanges via WhatsApp are subject to that service's privacy policy.

Client area

The client area, accessed with a username and code provided by TOPOPHILIA, lets you view the surveys carried out for you. It uses a session cookie that is strictly necessary for authentication, valid for seven days at most and deleted when you log out. Your first visit of the day is reported to TOPOPHILIA by email (name of the area, date and time) to follow up your file. Survey data (orthophotos, models, measurements, annotations) is hosted on the same server, accessible only to you and TOPOPHILIA, and is never shared with third parties without your consent. After a failed login, the IP address is kept for 15 minutes at most to block repeated attempts. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

Cookies

The showcase website sets no cookies, neither for audience measurement nor for advertising. Only the client area uses a session cookie, which is strictly necessary and exempt from consent.

Retention

Exchanges relating to a request are kept for as long as needed to handle it and for any business relationship that may follow, then deleted or archived in line with the legal retention obligations for commercial documents. Server technical logs are kept for the periods applied by the host, one year at most. Matomo statistics are kept for 25 months at most. Contact details of clients and their staff are kept for the duration of the business relationship and then three years after the last contact (invoices: ten years, an accounting obligation). Survey data (aerial photographs, orthophotos, models, measurements) is archived with no time limit, so that a client who needs it years later can still be helped; it concerns sites, not people, and anything captured by chance (people, vehicles) is never used.

What we do not do

This website sells nothing online, does no advertising tracking and sends no automated email or text campaigns.

Service providers

Only two technical providers are involved, on our behalf: OVH SAS (hosting of the website and client area, servers in France) and Proton AG (email, Switzerland). No data is sold or passed on for commercial purposes.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, write to olivier.lattuga@topophilia.fr.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés), the supervisory authority in France.
